Using JADS to display content

The Java Announcement Display System is designed to quickly and efficently display announcements, news and information to customers and clients. This page features some examples of presensentation slides together with the web-based user interface used to create them.

A slide containing plain text can be sent directly to the presentation screen from any Internet browser on the local network.

JADS automatically scales the font size to fit the available space and renders high resolution, anti-aliased text on top of other components defined by the active template.

To create a new slide containing a plain text announcement, the author types the address of the presentation computer into an Internet browser, signs in and clicks Slide Designer.

Within the Slide Designer a template is chosen to position the text on the screen. Plain text can be typed into the new slide and will be displayed on the presentation screen when the new slides are activated.

The functionality of JADS can be easily extended through the use of custom Java components.

One example is a fullscreen analog clock. Using the clock template, an analog clock component can be shown amongst a sequence of slides on the presentation screen.
